Tozour Energy Systems Named Among Top Veteran-Owned Businesses
Nov. 14, 2016 —For the third consecutive year, Tozour Energy Systems was included among the Philadelphia Business Journal’s annual list of “Top Veteran-Owned Businesses.”
Ranked by the number of employees, Tozour comes in as second on the list. Under the leadership and direction of founder and chief executive officer, Douglas O. Tozour, the company has been an industry leader in the Greater Philadelphia region for more than 30 years.
A graduate from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1963, Doug Tozour served in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he earned the rank of Captain. Tozour began his career in the HVAC industry after his service. Tozour Energy Systems was founded in 1979 when he purchased the Hartford, Conn. Trane franchise. After selling the franchise back to Trane in 1983, he then purchased the Philadelphia Trane franchise, which included the five counties surrounding Philadelphia and parts of southern New Jersey. Tozour Energy Systems now employs approximately 200 individuals from the Greater Philadelphia region.
